Privacy policy

Postfreak is a Chrome extension that adds publishing, downloading, grid sorting and public engagement tools to instagram.com. This policy explains what data the extension handles and where that data goes.

Data Postfreak handles
Postfreak may handle the following data while you use it:
- Instagram session information, including session tokens, your Instagram username and account ID.
- Content shown on Instagram, including profile details, posts, stories, highlights, media URLs, captions and visible engagement counts.
- Photos, videos, captions and publishing options that you choose in the Postfreak composer.
- File names and download URLs needed to save media through Chrome's download manager.
Postfreak never asks for or stores your Instagram password.
How the data is used
The extension uses this data only for the action you choose. It uses your existing Instagram session to make direct HTTPS requests to Instagram for publishing, downloading, sorting and engagement calculations.
Postfreak does not have a developer-operated backend. The publisher does not receive your session information, Instagram content, selected files, captions or usage history.
Storage and retention
Session details, profile data and publishing details are held in browser memory only while they are needed. Postfreak does not save them to Chrome storage, local storage or a publisher server.
Files you download are saved by Chrome to your device. You control those files and can delete them at any time. Uninstalling Postfreak does not delete files you have already downloaded.
Sharing
Postfreak sends data only to Instagram when that transfer is required for a feature you start. For example, publishing sends your selected media and caption to Instagram, while downloading requests the selected media from Instagram. These transfers use HTTPS and are subject to Meta's privacy policy.
The publisher does not sell data, share it with advertisers or use it for profiling, credit decisions or any unrelated purpose. Postfreak contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting service.
Chrome Web Store limited use
Postfreak's use of information received from Google Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
